You might notice that our Tanzanian beans look a little different than most of our other coffees. That is due to the way the beans are grown. The typical coffee cherry has two coffee beans inside. This causes one side to be flat while the other is rounded. Peaberry coffee only has one seed (bean) which causes a very round shape. Peaberry coffee is grown around the world but the term has become synonymous with Tanzanian coffee. Some regard this as a superior type of bean because the single seed has the flavor of two normal seeds. The flavor of peaberry coffee is usually far brighter and more acidic than normal beans.
